Biography

Originally from Hong Kong, Peter K. Fung, M.D., moved to the United States to pursue his undergraduate degree at the University of Southern California (USC), where he graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1979. He continued his medical training at Stanford University, completing his medical degree in 1983. For the following three years, Dr. Fung was an Internal Medicine Resident at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he also completed a three-year fellowship in Cardiology following his residency.

Upon completion of his specialist training in Southern California, Dr. Fung served as Director of the Cardiac Nuclear Laboratory at the Central Cardiology Medical Clinic in Bakersfield, California. During his time in Bakersfield, he also served as the Director of Research and Education in the Central California Heart Institute. Because of his keen clinic accumen and compassionate bed side manner, Dr.Fung received two nominations for "Doctor of the Year" in 1992 and 1993.

After five years of practicing in Central California, Dr. Fung returned to Los Angeles where he founded Comprehensive Cardiovascular Specialists (CCS) in 1997 with the goal of serving the greater San Gabriel Valley residents. Dr. Fung is currently CCS’s managing partner and serves as Medical Director of Cardiology in multiple local hospitals.
